Ingredients
200g of VEGCHEESE Fresh Mozz (both refrigerated and frozen work)
½ cup unsweetened plant milk of choice
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
½ cup bread crumbs
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning (unless your bread crumbs contain this)
Oil of choice for frying
Marinara sauce of choice, for dipping
Directions
Add oil to large pot on medium heat until hot for frying
Cut VEGCHEESE Fresh Mozz block in half the long way, and then into 1/2” strips. Put aside in fridge to stay cool while preparing the batter
In a medium bowl, add in the plant milk, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until all ingredients are well combined. Set aside
In another medium bowl, add the bread crumbs and Italian seasoning. Mix and set aside
In a third bowl, add the remaining all-purpose flour and set aside
For the breading station: put side by side the bowl of plant milk batter, the bowl of all-purpose flour, and the bowl of bread crumbs
Take fresh mozz out of the fridge and place on a large plate or baking sheet. Pick up Fresh Mozz stick and submerge it completely in the plant milk. Any excess should drip off, and then drop it into the flour and coat it completely. Dip Fresh Mozz stick back into the plant milk batter, shaking off any excess. Drop the Fresh Mozz into the breadcrumb mixture and coat it generously. Put the breaded stick onto the plate or baking sheet that you set aside and continue until you have coated all of the sticks
Once all of the sticks are coated, add paper towel to a plate and set it aside. Add the mozzarella sticks to the heated oil and fry for 2-4 minutes, or until golden brown
Once fried, transfer the mozzarella sticks to the paper towel-lined plate and allow them to cool until easy to touch
Serve with your favourite marinara sauce and enjoy!
